Win at Spa for Leipert Motorsport

Last weekend Peter took the wheel of the Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 to compete in the sixth round of the International GT Open Championship at Spa Francorchamps.

Fabian Hamprecht took the start of the First race on Saturday in which they had an extra 10sec penalty during the compulsory pitstop due to their second place at Silverstone,so it would be very hard to secure a top position, especially as Fabian was turned into a spin after a move on the opening lap.

When Peter took over at the stop the team had a problem with changing the wheels which unfortunately, cost them a lot of time.

Second place 12hr Merdeka at Sepang Circuit

Peter flew to Malaysia last week to compete in the Merdeka 12hr race for Lago Racing from Australia, the same team he competed Bathurst for in the beginning of the year.

Also the driver pairing was the same with Roger Lago and Dave Russel joining Peter for this race. After winning the race outright in 2010, Peter was optimistic about the chances this year as the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 is a strong package at Sepang.

The Lago team had prepared the car perfectly and Reiter Engineering had sent some staff to support with the pitstops. The car ran faultless all weekend with only a rear light bulb! failure during the race for which they had to make an unexpected stop.

They qualified the car on P7,which is an aggregate of the fastest time the 3 drivers do in their respective qualiyfings.

Peter took the start and immediately gained a position and from their on the drivers put in strong stints, made no mistakes and had a fantastic crew back in the pits who had control over everything.

This resulted in a well earned second place overall, which was the maximum they could have achieved!
