Respectable Results for Reiter Gallardo GT3 Race Cars in GT Open at Nuerburgring

The two Reiter Gallardo FL2 GT3 fielded by Kox Racing made a solid impression during the first race International GT Open race weekend at the Nürburgring:

After Tomas Enge had missed pole position in the GTS class by the incredibly narrow margin of 111 thousandths of a second and started the race from P2, the former Formula 1 driver further improved his performance in the Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 GT3 in Sunday’s race. Enge set the fastest lap of 1m 59.00s. Together with budding talent Maximilian Völker, who was able to gather even more important race experience, the Czech finished a respectable 8th place in the GTS class.

More than 10,000 spectators witnessed the season opener of the popular ADAC GT Masters series at the weekend in sunny weather. Swiss entrepreneur Marc A. Hayek (President and CEO of Blancpain) and race driver Peter Kox from the Netherlands share a Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 in the Blancpain Racing team this season. Both have been contesting this series successfully for a few years now. Hayek won the title in the Gentlemen ranking in 2011 and Kox took the overall victory in the series a year before.

The ADAC GT Masters is a racing series that complies with international GT3 regulations. Two race drivers share a car. The teams have two free practice sessions to set their cars up for the individual track conditions. This is followed by two qualifying sessions for the drivers. The first session determines the start position for the first race on Saturday. The second driver secures his start position for the race on Sunday. The driver change takes place within a specified time frame after the first half of the race. It is mandatory for each team.
All races of the super sports car league season are broadcast live in HD (high definition) quality by TV station kabel eins on Saturday and Sunday at 11.45 a.m.

Best time for Marc A Hayek and Peter Kox in the Lamborghini Gallardo

Hayek/Kox (Lamborghini) finished 0.1 seconds up in second practice on Audi pair Hamprecht/Thiim.

Lamborghini are back on top in the ADAC GT Masters. 2010 ADAC GT Masters champion Peter Kox and Marc A Hayek posted fastest time (1:27.931 min) for the Lamborghini Gallardo FL2 (Blancpain Racing) in second practice at the ADAC GT Masters opener in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. And so, Kox's best time put Lamborghini back at the top of the timesheets in an ADAC GT Masters practice session for the first time since 2011.

The Dutchman took over the lead with ten minutes to go until the end of the session from Audi pair Kelvin van der Linde/René Rast (Prosperia C Abt Racing), who finished practice in fourth place after their team-mates Fabian Hamprecht/Nicki Thiim and Claudia Hürtgen/Dominik Baumann in the BMW Z4 (PIXUM Team Schubert) succeeded in working their way up into second and third place respectively. Team champions from last year Prosperia C Abt Racing brought home all three of their Audi R8 LMS ultras in the Top Ten; Stefan Wackerbauer and Winkelhock were tenth.
