Dörr Motorsport to contest the highlight of the season with five cars

Dörr Motorsport will enter five cars for the 41st ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race this year. It will be the 14th year in succession for the team from Frankfurt to participate in the classic endurance race in the Eifel.

Dörr Motorsport will contest the 41st run of the classic endurance race in the Eifel at Whitsun weekend in front of about 200,000 spectators. The team will enter a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 with strong drivers, a BMW Z4 M Coupé as well as three Toyotas GT 86.

Experienced trio in the McLaren

Team Principal Rainer Dörr and Team Manager Uwe Isert will rely on the experience of their drivers Rudi Adams, Arno Klasen and Peter Kox. Adams won five top ten places and achieved four class victories at the 24-Hour Race with Dörr Motorsport in the past. Having secured 24 overall victories in the VLN Endurance Championship, his team-mate Arno Klasen is one of the most successful drivers in the “Green Hell”. The third driver will be Peter Kox who achieved a lot of success in GT sports, including a third place at the 24-Hour LeMans and winning the title in the ADAC GT Masters.

"I am confident that we have a very balanced team for the highlight of the season. All three have a lot of experience in motorsports and know what matters in a 24-hour race. The McLaren MP4- 12C is perfectly prepared after the final tests. And if everything works out fine we should be able to secure a place among the top10,” says Team Manager Uwe Isert ahead of the 41st ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race

Fourth class victory for the Z4 M Coupé?

Stefan Aust, Robert Thomson, Frank Weishar and Andreas Weishaupt will take turns at the wheel of the BMW Z4 M Coupé for the twice-around-the-clock race. The team of Team Principal Rainer Dörr secured three class victories in past 24-hour races in the BMW Z4, most recently in 2012. As a result, Team Manager Isert is confident. “The next class victory for the Z4 is possible provided that the four drivers can complete the race without incidents.”

Three Toyotas GT86

The team will also enter three Toyotas GT86. The three cars will contest the class of close-to-production engines with a cylinder capacity of up to 2 litres.

Team Principal Rainer Dörr will share car #209 with Markus Grossmann, Dierk Möller-Sonntag and Guido Naumann. Dirk Heldmann, former professional motorcycle racer Alexander Hoffmann, Rolf Scheibner and Giampaolo Tenchini will be at the wheel of the second Toyota. Hans-Martin Gass, Heiko Hahn, Roland Konrad and Kristian Vetter will compete in the third GT86.

The 41st ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race will be the 14th year in succession for Dörr Motorsport to participate in the classic endurance race in the Eifel. The team from Frankfurt achieved five top10 places in the overall standings as well as seven class victories in the past.
