B-QUIK RACING returns to Sepang 12hours

B-Quik Racing confirms that it will return to Sepang International Circuit on 8-11 December 2016 to compete in the prestigious Sepang 12 Hours for the third consecutive year, with our driver lineup from the last edition, Henk J. Kiks, Daniel Bilski and Peter Kox, being reunited in our Audi R8 LMS Cup.

The most important endurance race in South East Asia, the Sepang 12 Hours, was the scene in 2014 of B-Quik Racing’s first ever long distance race participation and clinching the runners up position in the GTC class was a superb debut reward for the team. Last year we returned to the race and finished in third place – meaning our two entries in the Sepang 12 Hours have netted two visits to the podium.

Just like last year there will be an influx of European teams onto the entry list to take on the best from Asia as SRO Motorsports Group moves into its second year promoting the Sepang 12 Hours so the race is going to be even tougher and competitive than ever before. And just like last year, the switch from a mid year date to December has been carried over thus making it the end of season closer for global sportscar racing.

B-Quik Racing is also pleased to announce that Peter Kox, one of the leading international sportscar drivers of recent decades, will rejoin our line-up having driven for us for the first time in the 2015 Sepang 12 Hours. The Dutchman, a former factory driver for McLaren, Aston Martin and Lamborghini, has also competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours no less than thirteen times, sensationally winning in 2003.

Having spent the majority of his career firmly at the pinnacle of sportscar racing, firstly with Prodrive and then more recently with Reiter Engineering, he has also found time to take in single-seater racing, the British Touring Car Championship and even Australian V8 Supercars, as well as participating in all the world-famous endurance races.

Peter’s record in the Sepang 12 Hours is excellent too. He won the race overall in 2010 on his debut and then was runner up in 2013 on his second visit. Last year of course he finished third in our Audi so he won’t want to let that intact podium finishing record slip and that will give the team extra motivation. In fact he’s right at the top of his endurance form, as he was a member of the victorious crew during the 24 Hours of Brno held ten days ago.

Henk J. Kiks is coming off the back of a solid season in Thailand Super Series’ Super Car GTM with the Audi R8 LMS Cup, his third year driving the car in Thailand’s premier racing category; the Dutchman’s been on the podium this season and so he’s all ready to go.

Daniel is also racing in Super Car GTM this year, his second season in the category and his first racing an Audi R8. The Australian has enjoyed a very strong year in Thailand having made five trips to the podium from the seven races so far and he’s currently sitting in an excellent third place in the Super Car GTM Drivers’ classification. Daniel was the 2015 Audi R8 Cup’s Amateur Class Champion so he also knows the German racecar inside out.

It’s presently a difficult period for Thailand as the nation mourns the loss of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and B-Quik Racing management and staff would like to offer our deepest and most sincere condolences.
